20 COVID-19 Clients Recover from the Disease in the Upper East Region-Tangoba Abayage.

Twenty (20) out of the twenty six (26) persons who tested positive for the COVID-19 Pandemic in the Upper East Region have fully recovered and are being integrated back into society. 
The Upper East Regional Minister Hon Tangoba Abayege made the announcement on the Upper East Regional Coordinating council's Facebook page. 

The region recorded it’s first case on the 3rd of April 2020 being a 30-year old pregnant woman.

Since then, 25 more people have been infected with  the disease including a medical doctor and some nurses.

The pregnant woman and the medical doctor later recovered from the disease. 

The Minister's announcement of the recoveries have brought joy to many  residents in the Upper East Region. 

The Upper East regional minister Tangoba Abayage however urged citizens to welcome the recovered persons back to society as they are part of it and put an end to stigmatization.

The statement read as follows,

“I have great news Upper East Region!

20 out of the 26 cases of Covid19 in the Region have recovered. (GHS)

We thank God and all who have helped to make this possible.

They’re part of us and need love; not stigma!” She wrote.

Meanwhile, the number of confirmed case in the country has hit 6,486 people whereas 1,951 have recovered. 31 persons have died.
