SITE HANDED OVER FOR CONSTRUCTION OF A NURSES TRAINING COLLEGE IN SANDEMA.
A site has been handed over along the Sandema-Siniensi road to Nakari Constructions limited for the commencement of work on a two story building structure to be used for a nursing training college in the Builsa North District of the Upper East Region.
The project which is expected to be completed within six months for enrolment to start next year, will be funded by the Northern Development Authority under the One Million Dollars Per Constituency Infrastructure for Poverty Eradication Projects (IPEP) and lobbied to the Builsa North District by the NPP (2020) parliamentary Candidate Mr. James Maurice Abakisi.
In handing over the project to the contractor, Mr Alagsikoma Robert the Zonal Coordinator of the Nothern Development Authority appealed to the contractor to execute an excellent work and abide by the timelines of the project.
The District Chief Executive for Builsa North Mr David Amoabil Afoko also appealed to the contractor to engage the youth within the project area in the execution of the project.
He also thanked the NPP Parliamentary Candidate for lobbying for the project saying, the Assembly together with the paramount chief of the Builsa Traditional area tried to get a tertiary institution to the Builsa traditional area but have been unsuccessful and that the coming of the project is very timely as Builsa’s have longed waited for one.
He appealed to constituents within the Builsa North District not to politise the project but join hands to ensure its completion and operationalization.
The NPP 2020 parliamentary candidate, Mr James Maurice Abakisi thanked the overlord of the Builsa Traditional Area Nab. Azaksuk Azantilow II for leasing land for the project.
He also thanked the Northern Development Authority for making sure the project came to the Builsa North Constituency saying the project will greatly help empower the youth in the area by not only providing them with jobs when completed, but will also afford students in and around the Builsa North Constituency with the zeal to go into nursing, gain admission into the nursing training college.
He also thanked all those who worked assiduously behind the scenes especially Former deputy EC chair Mr Adeenze Kanga, Mr George Akanlo, the DCE Hon. David Amoabil Afoko and the party Chairman Mr. Albert Atuga for making the dream of getting the Builsa North District a Nursing Training College a reality.
The team earlier also handed over sites for the construction of a Police Station with Quarters at chuchuliga, Renovation of the Abakisi’s House Girls Dormitory at the Sandema Senior High School, Construction of a 20 bed capacity childrens ward at the St. Lucas Hospital in Wiaga and the construction of a 3-unit Day care centre for Banyangsa-Belimwazuk at Kaadema.
All the projects are expected to be completed within six months.
