HEALTH FACILITIES IN BUILSA GETS SUPPORT FROM RUPFA

Rural Urban Partnership for Africa (RUPFA) a non-governmental organization through the help of ASODH has donated a moto-king ambulance, two refrigerators, and 10 long benches to three health facilities in the bulsa traditional area of the upper east region.
Lily Osei, the Country Director for RUPFA speaking at a short handing over ceremony at Kanjaga, one of the beneficiary communities, hinted of the organisation’s dream of initiating programmes and projects aimed at supporting government to attain the Sustainable Development Goal 3 - SDG3, which is targeted at ensuring good health and wellbeing for all by 2030.

The project which had funding support from Action Solidarite Pour Le Development Human (ASODH), France.
She said, the organization has addressed a multitude of challenges that impact the lives of Ghanaians across the 16 regions of Ghana through its collaboration with development partners. RUPFA over the years has embarked on a lot of projects ranging from education, health, sports, environment, agriculture, livelihood and economic empowerment, water sanitation and health.
The beneficiary health facilities include Kanjarga Health Centre and Baasa CHPS Compound both in the Builsa South District and Wabilinsa CHPS Compound in the Builsa North Municipality. Kanjarga Health Centre received a moto-king ambulance and two benches, Baasa CHPS and Wabilinsa CHPS each received a refrigerator and two benches.
Health personnel who received the items for the three beneficiary facilities all express their gratitude to RUPFA for the timely intervention.
In the case of the moto-king ambulance, the in charge of Kanjarga Health Centre Mr. Aninanya Daniel A. Rockson said the support will not only save lives but improve quality healthcare delivery in the area.
Mr Aninanya said about 35 people-comprising 20 children and 15 adults lost their lives between 2017 and 2023, as a result of lack of means to refer patients to the district hospital when their conditions got deteriorated.

He said the intervention will help address the issue of maternal and neonatal deaths because the center can now rely on the services of the moto-king ambulance. Due to the large nature of the district, relying on the services of the national ambulance has not been helpful over the period.

Janfa Barichisu midwife in-charge of the Baasa CHPS said, with this intervention will curtail the daily struggle of commuting to the district capital for vaccines anything those vaccines are to be use. This has the tendency of increasing service delivery to the people.

Be steadfast, patient, pray and persevere during hard times- Director General Of Maritime Authority.

The Youth have been admonished to be steadfast, patient, pray and persevere, during hard times in their lives, as their struggles could lead to better days in future.
Director General of the Ghana Maritime Authority Mr. Thomas Kofi Alonsi gave the advice during the induction ceremony of Rev. Anthony Akanzeridi as the district pastor of the Assemblies of God Church in Sandema.
Mr. Alonsi said, the induction of Rev. Akanzeridi to lead the Assemblies of God church is a fulfilment of the scripture as captured in Mathew:- 9:37-38 which says “Then he said to his disciples, 'The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest".

He called on the youth of the church to combine whatever their doing with serving in God's vineyard.
Recounting his experience, Mr. Alonsi like many other accomplished persons, believes that, without prayers, patience and perseverance, one would not be able to attain his or her aims in life.

“I contested in the 2016 elections to represent the people of Builsa North in parliament but lost. After lossing the elections, all hope was lost. I started questioning myself but never lost trust  in God. I was always praying and fasting. It was in 2018-2019 that I was appointed as Director General of the Ghana Maritime Authority which is a bigger position than that of an mp which I was fighting for".
He said, he is through the appointment also contributing his widows might to the socioeconomic development of the Municipality.
He therefore called on the Youth not to be in a haste but continually trust God for "his thoughts are not our thoughts, neither are his ways our ways" (Isaiah 55:8) he said.

Rev. Elijah Azusong who is also the Regional secretary of the Assemblies of God church   preaching the sermon from the book of numbers:- 22-24 said, "King Balak of Moab offered Balaam a son of Beor and a prophet money to curse Israel. But Balaam blessed the Israelites instead, as dictated by God".  He therefore ask God to bless those he has chosen to lead his flock so that they would be able to carry out the mantle successfully.
The induction Ceremony was moderated by the Upper East Regional Superintendent of the Assemblies of God church Rev. Albert Adekaldu at the Emmanuel Temple of the church in Sandema.
