The Builsa North District of the Upper East Region has recorded its first confirmed covid-19 case since the outbreak of the pandemic.
The District Chief Executive of Builsa North Hon David Amoabil Afoko confirming the news to Derrick Abakisi at his office on Friday 10th July 10, 2020 advised residents of the District to strictly adhere to safety protocols set aside by the Ghana Health Service aimed at preventing the disease.
The said client according to the DCE travelled from Manpongteng in the Ashanti Region and was seeking health care from a herbalist in Wiaga a Suberb of the District capital. She was suspected of having the disease where samples were taken by the District COVID-19 response team while at home and the results came out positive.
The client and all her relatives according to the DCE are currently being cared for at home and all her contacts being traced.
The DCE appealed to all residents to stay calm as the Ghana Health Service in the District are up to the task at ensuring the disease is contained.
On the wearing of Facemask, the DCE said the police will soon clamp down on persons who refuse to put on facemasks as it has now become a law for every citizen of Ghana to wear face mask when leaving their homes.
