Lions Club donates to flood victims in Builsa North.






 

A Humanitarian Service Based Organization called Lions Club International Foundation with its Headquarters in Chicago in the United States of America, through its Ghana office has donated consumables to some victims of the heavy floods that hit parts of the Builsa North District in the Upper East Region somewhere last year 2019. The donation which took place at the District Assembly hall comprised of bags of maize, bags of millet, bags of rice, bags of beans, boxes of cooking oil, and sleeping mats.
The Ghana country Coordinator of the Lions Club International Foundation Madam Abi in presenting the consumables to the flood victims indicated that the Foundation is into serving the poor in society to live meaningful life and hard hit disaster victims in the world hence the Foundations decision to donate the consumables with the facilitation of the District National Disaster Management Organization NADMO office. 
Madam Abi indicated that the donation is also to put smiles on the faces of the victims. 

Mr. Godwin Adiaknaab who hails from the Builsa South District and a member of the Lions International Foundation indicated that he consulted the Builsa North District NADMO Coordinator for names of the flood victims which he submitted to the club for the grant to buy the consumables. He added that the same quantity of consumables has been donated to the victims across the three Districts namely the Kassena Nankana Municipal and the Builsa North and South Districts. 

The Builsa North District National Disaster Management Organization NADMO coordinator Mr. Abakisi Bismark after receiving the consumables stated that the distribution of the consumables to the flood victims would be done without political coloration. Mr. Abakisi thanked the Lions Club International Foundation for the donation and promised a cordial working relationship with the Foundation to pave way for more of such donations to the District to mitigate the sufferings of flood victims in the future which he is not praying for but is bound to happen. 

Some of the 2019 flood victims who are beneficiaries of the donation thanked the Foundation for their kind gesture and sing praises the Foundation. They wish them well in their future endeavors.
