Following the gruesome murder of One Agbedemnaab from Baasa in the Builsa South District of the Upper East Region at Yarinsa a suburb of Fumbisi the District Capital on 20th May,2020 by one Patrick Amaaba from Wiesi also in the Builsa South District of the Upper East Region, tensions have been mounting as youth groups from the Baasa community continuously demonstrate to demand the immediate apprehension of the alleged suspect.
Envisaging signs of reprisal attacks from the youth of the Baasa community who are still furious and feel that justice must be served for their slained brother, the District Security Committee (DISEC) of Builsa south, led by the district chief executive Hon. Daniel Kwame Gariba in consultation with the fumbisi chief and other interested parties have asked for an early closure of the Fumbisi market beginning 26th of May,2020.
The committee in a press release Signed by the District Chief executive stated that,
1. All persons who come to the market for trade or whatever purposes must complete their businesses and leave the market by 6pm
2. All drinking bars/spots including chop bar operators must close their businesses by 6pm prompt
3.The committee is also entreating all visitors and traders of the Fumbisi market to abide by the president's directives on the containment of the Covid-19 Pandemic.
4. Persons who go contrary to the directives would be made to face the full regurs of the law.
The committee however wish to assure the general public that the security agencies are not relenting on their efforts at arresting the perpetrators and will soon arrest him and his accomplice and bring them to book.
The committee whiles expressing it's condolence to the bereaved family has urged the general public to remain calm and provide the security agencies with the relevant information to aid in the arrest of the culprit and his accomplice.
