VICE PRESIDENT UNHAPPY ABOUT SLOW WORK PACE ON AGENDA 111

His Excellency the Vice President, Alhaji Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia has expressed dissatisfaction about  the progress of work on the Agenda 111 project in the Kassena- Nankana West District.

Work on the project was awarded in February this year, and was still at foundation level when the Vice President visited the site on Friday to access the progress of work as part of his working visit to the Upper East Region.

“I was not happy about the progress of work, it's not satisfactory, I have told the Consultant who briefed me and he confessed himself, therefore we need to make progress,” he noted.

Dr. Bawumia told the press that the challenges in the health sector, including the lack of hospitals in some Districts across Ghana, dated back to the days of Independence, and said the Akufo-Addo-led- government had taken a bold decision to address the problem.

He said the government adopted a holistic approach to build 111 standard hospitals towards addressing the health needs of over 90 Districts without hospitals, seven Regional and three psychiatric hospitals across the country.

While in the Paga Constituency, the Vice President paid courtesy call on the Paga Pio, Pe Charles Awia Awampaga II, and indicated that the purpose of his visit to the five northern regions was a follow-up on the visit of the President Akufo-Addo a month  ago for first-hand information on government’s initiated projects and flagship policies.

The Paramount Chief praised the Akufo-Addo-led-government for his vision for the country and work done so far that had brought some relief to Ghanaians.

He mentioned the Free Senior High School policy which afforded many children the opportunity to access Secondary education, and the ongoing Agenda 111 project under construction across the country.

The Vice President assured the Paramount Chief that the several concerns of the  Traditional Area, including the renovation of a girls' dormitory block of the Paga Senior High School which was gutted by fire would be addressed.

Smooth Conduct of Internal Elections an Indication of Readiness to Breaking the Eight.

Npp Communications Officer Mr.Derrick Abakisi

The Npp Communication Officer for the Builsa North Municipality of the Upper East Region Mr. Derrick Abakisi has stated that, the smooth conduct of the Npp's internal elections from the polling station level to the National level is a clear indication of the party's readiness to Breaking the eight year rule.
Speaking on Radio Builsa on Saturday 13th August, 2022, Mr. Abakisi said, unlike the opposition NDC who have started fighting among themselves in what they call "party reorganisation process " , the Npp on the other hand was able to organise a highly competitive, free, fair and transparent internal elections without any rancor" as we speak, almost all elected Constituency and regional executives have done their thank you tours to thank the grassroots as well as Constituency executives for electing them to lead the party at the Constituency and Regional level of the party for the next four years. The National executives have also begun theirs and as we speak they are currently in the Ashanti Region on a thank you tour".
He seized the opportunity to thank all party members, the Electoral Commission and the Security agencies for their immense contribution at making the process a success.
Mr. Abakisi added that the election is over and this must be the time for the winners and the losers to bury any differences we had during the heat of our internal campaigns for the sake of party unity.
Although defeat is painful, that is the essence of any contest. There will by all means be winners and losers. But it will always be a show of maturity for the winners to feel humbled and privileged to be voted into power to serve.
It will be important for us to extend a genuine hand of cooperation to those who lost so together we can work for the good of the NPP.
As leaders, winners must lead the efforts in the healing process by eschewing all forms of arrogance and remain humble at ensuring that the vanquished are made to feel welcomed and much needed in the party and this is what the new executives have started doing he stated.
