The 2022 edition of the Sandema Zone Annual Feok Festival games came to a successful end today 8/12/2022 at the Broken Walls Stadium in Sandema.
The tournament which started on 8th November,2022 with 13 participating community football teams, saw the Bilinsa team emerging winners after a 4-2 penalty shootout against the Awusu-yeri team.
The Builsa North Municipal Chief Executive mad Vida Akantagriwon Anaab in her address touched on the increasing rate of HIV/AIDS in the Municipality saying 43 out of 3000 persons tested positive to HIV/AIDS in the first quarter of 2022 in the Municipality.
She therefore advised the Youth to practice safe sex in order to prevent themselves from contracting the deadly disease.
She revealed that, His Excellency the President of the Republic Nana Addo Dankwa Akufu Addo and the Sports Minister would grace this year's feok festival which also marks the 10th Anniversary of the Enskiment of the overlord of the Builsa traditional area Nab Azagsuk Azantilow II.
This she said, would give the Constituency another opportunity to present our challenges to the president and the Sports minister some of which include the current state of our sports stadium.
Mr. Apagyin Kofi who represented the overlord of the Builsa traditional area Nab Azagsuk Azantilow II was greatful to the Organizers for an excellent and peaceful organisation of the tournament.
He urge the youth to venture into sports as it has alot of benefits.
Builsa North Constituency Chairman of the New Patriotic party Mr. Albert Atuga Ajapoak who handed over an amount of Ghc1000 to the Organizers of the games on behalf of the Chief executive officer of the Ghana Maritime authority Mr. Thomas Kofi Alonsi said, the zonal games has further deepened the unity and love Builsa's have been enjoying and urge the citizens of Buluk to be each other's keeper despite our differences in political and religious ideologies.
The Builsa North NDC Constituency Chairman Mr. Achaab James on behalf of the Mp Mr. James Agalga also presented Ghc600 Ghc400 and Ghc 300 each to Bilinsa,Awusu-yeri and Kalbiisa for emerging 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the competition.
All participating teams took home certificates for participating in the tournament.
